Bapuji Rural Enlightenment and Development Society (BREDS) was established In the year 1983, few like-minded people who were inspired by Gandhian philosophy of Grama Swaraj formed BREDS to cherish humanistic values fired by the twin ideals of cooperation and self-help. The Nature of the Organization is Registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (India).
To capacitate the communities to become better informed and enlightened of their rights and choices in order to control the environment, resources and levels of power. To strengthen the institutional base necessary for social transformation and to bring positive change in the quality of life of marginalized communities.
To realize the Gandhian Dream of “GRAM SWARAJ” by building a network of autonomous village communities which are self-sufficient and self-reliant.
